Lace Challenge 7

Shirley Meier

Victoria, Australia

This pattern is from Etsy by Lee Buchanan it is a wax flower done as a dodechahedron shaped flower.  I started making bobbin lace many years ago and really enjoyed it, however I now have a problem with my back and have switched to tatting as I can sit in my chair to do it .

Liz Ligeti

Melbourne, Australia

I was privileged to be asked to proof read the book   as it was being written – “Bibilla Knotted Lace Flowers” by Elena Dickson.

She was amazing to get such life-like flowers using just a needle and thread,  and they are so life-like – Daffodil, fuchsia, etc. (Some are Australian flowers I think.)

The one good thing about the Covid pandemic, things changed and now we overseas folks can just send in a photo, - not have to send the piece of lace!!!

Thank you for doing this Challenge section. It is fun!

Regards, Liz – in Bitterly cold Melbourne,. – where it is supposed to be summer, but feels more like Mid-Winter today. They even had Snow up in the mountains!!

I had to tat this cutie! It was shared by Vicki Clarke this week for the Online Tatting Class. I used size 20 anchor color 4054.

It was in a box of vintage thread I was gifted. It was fun to tat!

I took the grouping with a fork to give a perspective as to size.
